Baltimore (15)

Dir: Joe Lawlor, Christine Molloy | UK | 2023 | 98 mins
Cast | Imogen Poots, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, Lewis Brophy

Imogen Poots gives a fiery performance as English rose-turned-revolutionary Rose Dugdale in Baltimore.

Dynamic creative duo Christine Molloy and Joe Lawlor (Rose Plays Julie, Helen) evolve their filmmaking with this lush, fragmentary, ideas-rich take on the real-life story of the self-radicalised Provisional IRA volunteer.

Debutante Rose (Poots) enjoys a life of privilege, but amid the political turmoil of the 1970s, her rebellious nature and sympathies with the IRA evolve into radicalisation. When the art heist she leads takes a violent turn, is she prepared to face the consequences? Time ripples back and forth in Molloy and Lawlor’s fascinating portrait of a singular woman.
